NADAC Dog 2011

Well, here is the finished NADAC Champs raffle dog for 2011.  Champs happens to start tomorrow.  I’ll be interested to see who wins it this year.   Here’s a bunch of photos for you to look at.

Check out some images with the head fully attached here.  It seems to have finally balanced out with the addition of beads and junk to the legs.  Yay!  I will be finished when I add a few more details (teeth, tongue, maybe a few feathers).

 

Behind a Head

I’m so behind posting here.  Well, I actually got the head sculpted, baked and painted.  I was stuck on this for so long it was ridiculous.

It is currently attached to the body and sitting on my desk waiting for ears and neck fur.  The head ended up quite heavy, so I had to add some extra weight to the rear end to balance it out.  It still isn’t totally stable, so I think I need to mess with it some more.

For Your Viewing Pleasure

I managed to finish the purple dog last week in time for the trial.  I was ‘rushing’ to finish, so I don’t have any ‘sewing on the fur/painting the head’ progress photos.  I offered it as a worker raffle item, with the option to pay a dollar for a ticket that would be donated to NADAC Rescue.  Nobody bought any tickets, but there were a TON in the bag.  Thanks to everyone that volunteered!

FUR!

Well,  I finally cut the shaggy purple fur out.  I’ve been avoiding this for a couple days, haha.  Cutting out the fur and sewing it on is probably my least favorite part (other than getting poked by wire while putting the body together or sticking beads on the legs).  I got this piece pretty much all sewn on today.

It got a tail!!!  I also made a base for the head, but I don’t have any beads big enough for eyes.  I’m gonna have to either look around the house some more or go buy some.

Oooh, Progress

Because I’m kind of lazy and don’t have much to stay, I’m just going to post pictures from the last couple days (you would see them earlier if you follow my tumblr.)  There’s a couple sketches that I did to mess with coat pattern.  I’m still not sure, which is why tonight ended with the ‘template’ cut out.  Decisions, decisions.
